As a Professional Dog Trainer, I enjoy working with you and your dog to reach your goals of experiencing life together in harmony. I am a Certified Trainer from The Connecticut K- 9 Education Center in Newington,where my focus was on learning behavior modification techniques that are dog-friendly ways to achieve the expected good behavior. I am a graduate of Becker College with my degree in Animal Care and I am a member of the respected Association for Pet Dog Trainers. |
I volunteer my training services to rescued and abused dogs from the Trumbull Animal Group shelter and have been involved with the Fidelco Guide Dogs for 7 years.
My lifelong experience with dogs has helped me when choosing a career. I began persuing my dream more than 10 years ago when I studied to become a Dog Groomer.
I live with a Silver Tabby cat Lily, and have raised 5 German Shepherds, Eli, Iko, Justice, Godiva & Kiara. Kida is my first Rottweiler.

Helen Wigzell was born in England & her family moved to the US when she was about 4 years old. An avid animal lover all her life she was first introduced to the sport of dog showing when she trained her family's yorkie Dudley, to the Utility level at the age of 9.
Helen has trained & shown multiple dogs since then in both obedience & breed. She has had the privilege to apprentice under some of CT's finest trainers over the last few years & has also worked as a veterinary technician.

A graduate of the University of New Hampshire's Animal Science program Helen has devoted her life to her passion for animals. She has had the good fortune to travel to Canada as well as along the eastern seaboard, handling Dobermans, Dachsunds, St Bernards, Newfoundlands & one of her favorite breeds, the PBGV.
Helen is a member of the APDT & is an accredited trainer through the advanced level.
Also an avid horseman she competes in hunter jumpers & sorting with her current mount "North Carolina's Remedy".

Dawn is a Certified Trainer from the Animal Behavior College, member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers & Trap Falls Kennel Club. She instructs group obedience classes, canine first aid & CPR and also works one to one in private lessons. |
Dogs have always been a part of her life as Dawn was raised with Labs, Rottweilers and German Shepherds. She has volunteered in local animal shelters to help dogs become more adoptable and is currently the Assistant Animal Control Officer in the town of Wilton.
Dawn has turned a lifetime love of dogs into her dream career. She does what she enjoys each and every day. Dawn lives with her husband Patrick and her inspiration dog Manny, the Boston Terrier.

Deborah Lee Miller-Riley Dog Trainer, Coach & Judge

Deborah Lee has shared all her life with animals and has developed a pet photography business, Three Dogs Running Studio for animals and founded Canine Water Sports in Monroe. Her training methods are based on the principles of operant conditioning with positive reinforcement being the preferred consequence for behavior. We are pleased to offer her Target Training classes here at Pet Degree. |
Deborah Lee believes that relationship enrichment and having fun is the primary purpose for training. She has earned dozens of awards and titles including AKC Obedience, Agility, Lure Coursing and Breed Conformation.
A retired veteran of the Norwalk Police Dept, Deborah Lee is an APDT member, active in the PWD Club and a Canine Water Sport Judge. She lives with her husband Thomas and a crew of Portuguese Water Dogs.

Nicole Ludwig Daycare Dog Handler

Nicole has joined our staff handling the care of our Doggie Daycare dogs. She comes to us with an Assoiciates degree in Small Animal Care from the University of New Hampshire. Her outstanding dog handling skills are a result of her equestrian experience and Sheltie kennel management. |
Nicole has aspirations of becoming a Vet Tech. She will be continuing on with higher education this fall. We hope to have her apprentice as a Trainer with us in the near future also.
"Doggie Daycare has been a rewarding experience getting to know all the dogs, working hands on to better understand dog behavior." Nicole's dog CH Shaizach Grand Central "Ahab" is a champion Sheltie.
